Nebraska style popcorn

Justin brought us home some popcorn on the cob and the boys were so excited to see what would happen. Max, of course, thought it was corn on the cob (normal style) and tried to eat it. So we popped it and dressed it with butter and salt and ate it when we got home from mud football. The boys thought that it was pretty cool. The popcorn however wasn't the best but the experience was great! :) Thanks Justin! hahahaha

Mud Football

Wednesdays = Mutual Night. Tonight was our YM/YW activity which was mud football. It's been a tradition to do it in the fall but last minute change and we ended up playing on one of the hottest days of the year - 105 degrees. We had a decent turn out. The leaders kids liked playing in the mud the most though. By the time the pictures would have been best Justin and I were both covered in mud from head to toe. After, we jumped into the canal and rinsed off then headed for the front yard to have a BBQ. Max as usual went around and ate other kids' food when they weren't looking and then finished off the rest of the plates when they were all playing tag. He finished his night with some watermelon (see picture).

STRAWBERRIES!!! mmmmmmm

Max is always making everyone around him laugh. He has a HUGE personality and does the funniest things. For instants, he loves to eat so the other day we were snacking on strawberries while watching a movie and Max scarfed down tons, but with each bite made a hysterical face. There wasn't one bite that he wasn't animated about. Enjoy!

Justin's Business Trip

Well, Justin left bright and early on Saturday morning, heading to Lincoln Nebraska - yeah, fun huh? ( I hear it's beautiful out there this time of year - hehehehe. He's gone until Tuesday night which leaves me with the boys for 4 whole days. Thank goodness for close family and friends. They've made these days go by pretty fast and have helped out since I have an inflamed SI joint (in my back) and it's hard to pick up Max and hold him - so they've been so wonderful and helping out tons. Anyhow, Whenever I am gone on a trip with the boys I always come home to projects being completed that we've started prior to the trip and I'm always having to guess what they are. Justin usually gets tons done and I am so grateful for this late nights spent trying to fix up the house. So last time he was gone for scout camp I tried really hard to get a "project" done but came only as close as waxing the floor one night and painting 1 lousy door. Well, this time was going to be different....until my back began to hurt....so I made up a new project. I decided to paint another door (out to the garage) and this time it wasn't just white. I went shopping to find a frame which I would take out the glass and place over a painted chalkboard area on the door....... and here it is.

Justin and I used to have a word of the week which was meant to expand our vocabulary and a scripture a week to memorize so this board is to rejuvenate and motivate us to continue our newlywed tradition. I'll let you know how that goes....

And since I hurt my back the door didn't come off...shhhhhh....no one needs to know, hence, the ugly, painted over hardware still needs updating....that will be left for Justin to "finish up" hahahaha. (Maybe my next trip to Oregon.)

Libby's Birthday or birthweek?

*Not pictured: Blake, Michelle and her kids, Jill's hubby and daughter, Carianne and her girls :( *

My birthday happen to fall on a Wednesday this year which means YM and YW mutual night for the both of Justin and I, so my birthday ended up being celebrated pretty much the entire week. We usually have a Sunday birthday dinner for both myself and my mother-in-law since it's during the same week but this year Justin had a business trip to go on and wasn't going to be here on Sunday the 10th, so, on Monday the 4th we had a BBQ which was delicious but ended up being the day that Jordan got his mission call....so it was a birthday/mission call opening party.....so much fun though. Then Justin, Alisha, Jordan and myself went to see Emma at the theater. (If you haven't seen it, you've got to watch it when it's released. It was very touching.) Then Wednesday came and being my actual "birth day" I woke and went to my spinning class and came home to a wonderful husband who made me breakfast - Yum Yum! Then I took the boys along with some friends and their children to a place called GAP - Gauche Aquatic Park - for the afternoon. All the kids had so much fun and it was fun for us too. We got home and I found a huge poster plastered across my house with "Happy Birthday Libby" on it and a lot of really nice things to say - from my dear friend Farrah. Then we were off to mutual for the night. My YW and the leaders gave me a wonderful BBQ and super delicious cake - they are so thoughtful. They even invited the priest to come too so that Justin could spend the evening with me. And when we got home our neighbors had "noticed" that it was my birthday and brought me some cupcakes and a card - they are too sweet! So Friday came along and Justin and I went out with some friends to Sopa Thai for some more great food and yummy dessert. I think after this birthday week celebration I've gained some pounds though. I am so grateful for my family and friends. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed being with them all week.
